Ribbon Cutting at Riddick & Windley Introducing Carhartt Clothing |

| Riddick & Windley ACE Hardware launched its line of Carhartt Clothing with a ribbon cutting and party Saturday, September 6, at 11 am. Riddick & Windley is hosting a Special Event each month this year to celebrate its 65th anniversary, so September was chosen to be "Carhartt Day." Corki Leverett, one of the owners of Riddick & Windley, noticed that most of their customers wore some sort of Carhartt clothing. When she admired the quality and workmanship of the clothes, she was told how difficult it was to find Carhartt in our area. She did research with more of the regular customers, and discovered that Carhartt has a very loyal following, primarily due to the wearability, excellent quality and style of the clothing. Corki says that "real men wear Carhartt" and "women love Carhartt men" so she believes this clothing line will enjoy great success. In fact, many women wear Carhartt clothing as well, even though they currently do not carry a women's line (picture on right). |

While showing off their new clothes, the gang at Riddick and Windley served Carhartt cake, chips and dip, cheeses, nuts, mints, and the incomparable Farm Boys Iced Tea. For the celebration, Riddick & Windley had great specials on U.S. Cellular contracts, a Home Work ACE Sale offered great bargains for shoppers, and free prizes and Door Prizes made it a fun day for all who visited. Winner of the Sandstone Duck Carhartt jacket was Selby Daw. Riddick and Windley will continue purchasing the Carhartt line of clothes as long as the community supports it; new clothes arrive each month, and special orders and Lay-A-Way are accepted. |
